Purple Blotch of Onion

Purple Blotch of Onion is a physiological and non-infectious disease. A few years ago this disease was not so common in Bangladesh, but now this disease is often seen. It is currently one of the main diseases of garlic. Therefore, it is important for garlic growers to have a clear understanding of the cause and treatment of this disease.

Cause of disease

  • Nutritional imbalance or lack of essential nutrients
  • Inability of crops to adapt to excessively cold weather

Type of damage

  • In the beginning, wet spots are seen on the leaves. It gradually grows and damages the leaf tissue.
  • Eventually the aga dries up and turns white and the leaves gradually die. In this the tree becomes weak and thin. As a result the yield is greatly reduced.

Remedy

  • Sow healthy, strong and clean seeds
  • Using fertilizers in the right amount
  • Plant garlic in a location with adequate sunlight
  • Weed control

Dosage:
